Frequently asked questions — IP tunnel

Is the tunnel really mandatory?

Yes, the tunnel (€2 ex-VAT/month) is the base building block of this offer: it establishes the encrypted link between your infrastructure and our network, whichever protocol you choose (VXLAN, EoIP, GRE or WireGuard).

What's the difference between SmartNet and Gcore transit?

Both transit tiers are protected by default — there's no unfiltered option. SmartNet transit (€0.42 ex-VAT/Mbps) carries your traffic over SmartNet's (AS203446) protected IP network. Gcore transit (€2.50 ex-VAT/Mbps) passes through our Gcore filtering layer, with greater global scrubbing capacity — recommended for services most exposed to volumetric attacks.

Can I change protocol after ordering?

Yes, switching protocol (VXLAN, EoIP, GRE, WireGuard) is done on simple request to support, at no extra cost.

How is my final invoice calculated?

Each item (IPv4, tunnel, SmartNet transit, Gcore transit) is billed separately based on your actual usage. The configurator above computes the ex-VAT and VAT-inclusive estimate in real time before you order.
